About Dr. Greta

Greta was raised only a few miles away from Clarksburg on a small farm in Barnesville, Maryland. During her life on the farm, in 4-H, and in college and vet school, Greta gained experience working with dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, llamas, and alpacas. The broad exposure taught her a lot about dealing with animals in many different situations. She has now limited her veterinary work to dogs and cats, but still does a little large animal work on her parent's llamas.

Greta graduated from Poolesville Jr. Sr. High School (they will always be the Indians to her) and went on to Cornell University where she earned a B.S. in Animal Science. She attended veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) and graduated in 1998. During vacations from college and vet school, she worked as a technician at Poolesville Vet Clinic. Greta then briefly worked as a doctor at Poolesville Vet Clinic for about 6 months before she joined Peachtree Vet Clinic where she remained for the next 4 1/2 years.

Although leaving Peachtree was not easy, Greta is excited to be starting the next phase of her career. Clarksburg Animal Hospital opened on August 30, 2004. She looks forward to seeing some of her previous clients and patients and meeting many new ones too. Welcome to Clarksburg Animal Hospital!!
