Our pharmacy is well stocked with medications to treat and manage most common conditions in dogs and cats.  Some specialized medications can be prescribed from human pharmacies or custom ordered from specialized pharmacies.

We also carry Interceptor and Heartgard for heartworm protection.  Our Flea and Tick preventative of choice is Frontline TopSpot.  Our prices for these preventatives are comparable and sometimes better than online pharmacies.  Please see our prices listed below for these items so you can easily compare to online pharmacies should you chose to utilize their services.

A few words about On-line Pharmacies...

Online veterinary pharmacies have done an excellent job convincing consumers that their products are than the same products sold by your veterinarian, only cheaper.  This may be true, but the price difference is not nearly as great as they would lead you to believe and the products are not always the same products.  We keep our prices reasonable and have nothing to hide.   Below you will find our prices for the most commonly shopped products.

Our goal is to be sure you are an educated consumer and understand the risks and benefits to any choices you make regarding your pets.  We hope this provides you with excellent information and answers all the questions you may have regarding your online choices.

Let’s review some facts about online pharmacies:

• You should use only online pharmacies that have been approved by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy through its Vet-VIPPS (Veterinary-Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites) program.
• Most veterinary drug companies do not warranty their products if purchased through an online veterinary pharmacy beacuse the veterinary drug companies do not sell to the internet pharmacies directly.  Many of the products sold through online pharmacies have been obtained through secondary and sometimes foreign markets, not directly from the manufacturer.   Some are even counterfeit and just packaged to look like the real thing.
• Should something be wrong with your product, you have no recourse.  Buying your products through Clarksburg Animal Hospital might cost a few dollars more, but you have the peace of mind knowing that should anything be wrong with your medication, we are right around the corner and will work with you and the manufacturer to make things right.

Our products all come directly from the manufacturer with no opportunity for counterfeit products.  For those of you shopping for 6 dose packages of Frontline, we are authorized by Frontline’s manufacturer, Merial, to offer a free 7th dose.  Only veterinarians are authorized to offer this bonus dose.   When you compare prices, be sure to account for this free dose.  Our price per dose is usually less once you account for this extra dose.

While we are not in favor of purchasing these products from online pharmacies, we understand that you have choices as a consumer.  We will authorize medically appropriate prescriptions for your pets who are under our care.  A valid client/patient relationship must exist for us to authorize prescriptions.   This means your pet must have been examined at our hospital within the last 12 months.  We cannot authorize an amount of medication which will exceed the annual exam due date.
